Michael A. Marciello, M.D. is a practicing Physiatrist since 1998. He is a licensed physician who obtained his board certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation after completing a medical internship at UMass Medical Center and then going on to complete his residency training at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston.
Dr. Marciello’s education began at Wesleyan University in Connecticut majoring in Neurological and Behavioral Sciences. A year of post-graduate neuroscience research was done before going into medical school at Thomas Jefferson University Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. graduating in 1994.
Professionally, Dr. Marciello is currently practicing in an outpatient spine center focusing on non-surgical approaches to neck and back spinal conditions. He also continues to manage musculo-skeletal pain disorders by using his knowledge of therapeutic exercise, injection techniques, imaging and diagnostic EMG and nerve conduction studies. But, to be in sync with his long-term membership in the Academy of Integrative Pain Management, Dr. Marciello believes that the best way to treat his patients is by using a multi-disciplinary and integrative team approach. By partnering with Dr. Gallagher, he plans to see all of our patients maximize function and minimize disability.
Dr. Marciello was born and raised in Somerville, Massachusetts. He currently resides in Needham, Massachusetts with his wife and two sons. In his spare time, he likes to take in sporting events or follow his passion- the sport of baseball. Dr. Marciello currently is in his 5th year as a volunteer coach, batting instructor and team doctor for the competitive adaptive sport of Beep Baseball; an adaptive game of baseball for blind and visually impaired players.
